Safety in Public Lighting:

Town Halls/ Kalamandir/ Kalakshetras / Convention Halls/ Community Centres/ Kalyana Mantapas are one of the major & important consumers of electricity in City/ towns/Villages where    large number of  general public (Guests & VIP's) attend the events. These are institutions where normally  more than 100 people assemble and power used at more than 110 volts. In the interest of public safety CEA has issued guidelines and safety standards. Electrical wiring and interior distribution are carried  out through Licensed Electrical Contractors as per the requirements of  guidelines in    standards stipulated in CEA regulations & are inspected by State Electrical Inspectorate for fitness and safety.  These  prime installations  generally have permanent or temporary  stand by source of power for back up with auto change over. ( AMF). For additional interior & exterior decorations, sound system & Photo shoot & videographings temporary wiring is drawn & used from temporary DG sets. 

 Cinema Halls one of the major place of public entertainment   are required to get their Exhibition licenses renewed by District Magistrate with Certificate of fitness & safety from Fire/ Electrical Inspectorate/ Health/ Police / Commercial Tax & Revenue departments regarding the seating arrangements, aisle width with sufficient illumination,  number of fans/Exhaust fans, parking lots, Toilets, fire fighting equipments & other public health & safety regulations.  

 State ERC regulations mandatory requirements for the above type of installations need to be verified  for the provision of  installations of Solar Power for heating and rooftop PV lighting.  In Cinema houses under Cinematograph act & rules, 24 volts is stipulated for aisle & seat lights. Auditorium lights are divided in to three circuits Central, Left & Right. Emergency lighting is mandatory at main halls, corridors & other utility spaces.
