Kodagu Focus for Power Development

  KODAGU is the least populous district with 4109 sq kms area   with high literacy rate low per capita consumption of Electricity and occupied by large areas of western ghat hills with partly forest streams & slopes of Brahmagiri/ Pushpagiri biodiversity. Geo location of the district is connected  with rest of India & State capital at Bangalore by National Highways & 400 KV Transmission lines. District has Five Revenue taluks, Sixteen Hoblis One 220/66 Kv Receiving Station, Seven 66/11 KV , Four 33/11 KV substations and Eighty Three 11 KV feeders. Receives Power from 400/220 KV  Receiving station of "Power Grid Corporation of India" located near Mysore City. 

Detailed study of Energy  and distribution system has become the necessity & need of the day , in view of multi talented growth & to create space for new young entrepreneurs  willing & planning to settle in Hill district for its good climate and with better connectivity to Airports at Mangalore/ Mattanur/ Mysore/ Bangalore for their business activity, Rail & Highway networks. 

KPTCL Planning & Coordination wing is planning to connect the district to stable grid (N-1 requirement of CEA)  and rearrange  EHV & HV networks and plan for evacuation of decentralised power generation expected in 2021-30 and meet the Vision of Prime Minister of India in energy sector. Turn Power starved district to Power rich District. "One Nation One Grid" to "One SUN One World"  Connect Nations by Transnational Grid.

Budget 2022 has given importance to infrastructure in seven fields of Roads Railways Airports. Ports Mass Rapid Transport waterways, and logistics infrastructure. These Seven Engines are supported by the complimentary roles of Energy Transmission. IT communication Bulk water Sewerage and Social infrastructure. Promoting clean energy leading to faster economic transformation , multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency.

2022 National Budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 announced by Honourable Union Finance Minister of India has made provision for the above mentioned infrastructure works.
