 Solar Rooftop PV panels scheme  1kw to 3Kw with 40% subsidy , 3Kw to 10 Kw with 30% subsidy were published by Karnataka Electricity Distribution Company "CHESCOM" inviting applications for Online registration from 15-06-2021 to 15-07-2021 for Soura Gruha Yojane. Many from different Divisions applied and registered.

Solar Policy for the current 2021-22  and grant allocation for different States & DISCOMs is yet to to be published by MNRE of MOP New Delhi. 

40% Subsidy was offered in the above scheme. Now after #COP26 the National target for Rooftop Solar has been enhanced to 40 GWs. out of committed target of 100 Gws by 2022. Cost of PV module has come down due to revision of GST. Electricity consumers in rural areas of Kodagu Dakshina Kannada where the present voltage regulation is more than 20% with Energy loss above 20% in HT distribution and with constraints in 33kv; 66kv 110kv 220kv Transmission lines are eagerly waiting for the above schemes and also for KUSUM Irrigation pump schemes for availing power to their IP sets. 

With heavy rain fall from July to September extending till oct/nov in few years due to unpredicted depressions & cyclones Kodagu will have around 280+ sunny days. Installing grid tied Solar Roof Top will provide a great relief to Public utility company in saving  feeder energy & peak load losses and improving supply voltages to Electricity consumers.
