MADIKERI RURAL Electrical network .
Electric Power to Bhagamandala / SAMPAJE/ Napoklu/ MADIKERI Hobli :
Electricity consumers of Madikeri Rural areas with feeding from MURNAD substation & F6 & F8 feeders of Madikeri substation are experiencing acute low voltage and frequent interruptions in the present system. 66/11KV substation established at Sampigekatte RF on the outskirts of Madikeri feeds Sampaje/ Bhagamandla / Mekeri feeders with idle run in the same alignment for 5.0 Kms, one circuit with "Aerially bunched insulated conductors" and two circuits with weasel conductors from New Madikeri 66/11 KV substation to Sudarshan circle ( along NH-275-Mysuru Mangalore Road). DTC break up on each of these feeders are as as follows:
1) Sampaje Hobli :Sampaje & Chembu Village Panchayath area Power supply is arranged from Madikeri 66/11 KV substation through 11 KV feeder -F8(Code 5117): Peak load-1.4Mws, Energy sent out : 44.532 Lakhs. DTc’s connected : 116nos- 4904 Kva+ Export to 37 Tcs /1682 KVA [ MESCOM] . Energy loss: 24%. VR ar tail end: 30%. 71 TC's - 2911KVA in Sampaje & Chembu Villages & 45TCs-1993 KVA of Madikeri O&M-2 (of Katakeri/ Madenadu / Bettathur / Monnangeri-2 villages ) are connected to lengthy feeder of F8. Need to bifurcate these loads of spur lines and consider forming a seperate circuit and connecting to neighbouring Galibeedu feeder (F11-Code 5119) which caters power to 35 Tcs -1480 kva of Madikeri Hobli Galibeedu, Hebbatageri; Kalakeri Nidugane, Kalooru villages. To consider linking Koyanad Sampaje ( TC:511739) with Urubylu Chembu village and arrange reconductoring of conductor from Chittekana(Koyanad Sampaje ) to Chembu -weasel by Rabbit ACSR to improve power to Chembu Village.
2) Bhagamandla Hobli: Large number of villages in Brahmagiri hill ranges are part of this hobli. Power is now arranged from 11 KV feeder of Madikeri substation by -F6-Code 5115, DTC’s:144, 5758 KVA. Out of these 39tc’s (1656 kva) are maintained by Madikeri Rural ( Appangala, Bettageri & other near by villages to Madikeri). 4 tcs (176 kva) of Napoklu hobli are connected to this feeder. Power requirement of KARIKE VILLAGE, which has 31 DTC'S WITH 1144 KVA is now arranged by interstate supply from KSEB ( Thondammal 33 /11 substation ) and suffer low voltage. 1000 kva Voltage Regulator is installed. (BPCL Hydel IPP of 2*5.5 mws is located at Karike and connected to Sullia muss by 33 kv line and evacuates power from June to November [ 35,000 mwh of energy per annum } to Dakshina Kannada MESCOM Grid.
3) Napoklu Hobli: Villages located on Kaveri river and bound by hill ranges of Thadiyandamol- Brahmagiri ranges up to Ballamavati-Nelaji to Yavakapadi/ Chelavara/ Kunjila are part of this hobli. State Highway SH90 connecting Hunsur- Virajpet with Bhagamandala & Talakaveri passes through this hobli. Area is now fed from Napoklu & Hoddur 11KV feeders of Murnad 33/11 KV 5 Mva substation with peak load of 2.4 Mws in each feeder. Improvements to distribution system by rearranging & reconductoring feeders along with upgradation of Murnad substation from 33KV to 66KV is under process. At present load shedding is resorted by CHESCOM to restrict system peak to station 5 MVA Power transformer.
4) Madikeri Hobli: Madikeri CMC area is fed by Five Town feeders(301 nos dtc's of 21.00 MVA capacity) & One exclusive water works feeder & Rural areas on Galibeedu, Madapura, Suntikoppa(NH275), Siddapura( SH89) Murnad Roads are fed by 11KV feeders of Madikeri Station [ Galibeedu/ Boikeri/ Mekeri] & Two feeders of Murnad station ( Maragodu & Murnad). Boikeri ( 69tc’s- 2862 KVA), MEKERI feeder(84 dtcs- 3692 kva) & Galibeedu feeder with 35 dtc's(1480 kva) need to be bifurcated and feeder loads rearranged. Forming of KADAGADAL new feeder (2000KVA) making use of additional 11 Kv breakers at KPTCL 66/11 KV substation at Madikeri This new feeder will facilitate to ease constraints in MARAGODU feeder fed from Murnad 33/11 KV station. Katakeri & Madenadu villages will have better power with tapping from Galibeedu feeder.
With the all round developments around Kodagu, smart city in Mangalore & faster connectivity between Mysore & Bangalore, urban planners have forecast urban development and demand for additional Power in MADIKERI CMC area and rural areas of all the four hoblis Napoklu/ Sampaje/ Bhagamandala / Madikeri Hobli.
Madikeri( Kodagu District Hqs) needs a additional WEST SIDE station to take care of Sampaje ( Residual), Bhagamandala ( Residual) Mekeri & Galibeedu feeder loads & to provide stand by alternate supply to Water works & Urban feeders of Western side of MADIKERI Town around Raja Seat / TV station/ KSTDC/ FMC College satellite development
